You can be an expert in design, business planning, marketing, product development, production or communications. The program also offers design firms a brilliant opportunity to hone their know-how and networks.
IDBM Pro provides a platform for advancing current development initiatives in your organization. We warmly welcome teams and experts from different functions within your company.
Tailored Training and Business Development
Throughout the training you will be working in a multidisciplinary group on an extensive development project. Its objectives can be directly linked to current development challenges of your organization. You develop a design business model concentrating especially on the issues most relevant to your business.
During the China module you will test your model for feasibility in the Chinese business environment. For this purpose, and to train multicultural team-work, you will work together with Chinese professionals in Shanghai.
In addition to the development project, the program consists of seminars, workshops, independent study and distance learning. The literature requirements will be tailored according to participants´ personal needs.
The IDBM Pro program covers 25 credits and has 15 days of face to face training sessions. The meetings are organized on Aalto University premises in Helsinki, Espoo and Shanghai. The dates of the training sessions are: April 25-27; May 24-25, June 14-15; August 24; September 21; October 20-27 (in China) and November 23, 2012.
The training is conducted in English.
Focus on China, Market Area Asia
Special emphasis will be placed on getting acquainted with design business management in China. Together with local professionals, you will test your design business model for feasibility in the Chinese business environment.
Part of the studies will be conducted at the Aalto Tongji Design Factory in Shanghai. The stay includes study visits to companies, lectures and a hands-on workshop.

Structure of China Module
The
module in Shanghai is an integral part of the training. However, the expenses of travel, accommodation and meals are not included in the training fee. The accurate costs for travel and accommodation will be confirmed when the exact number of participants is known. You can also make your own travel arrangements if you prefer. Please mark on your application form whether you will join the group or travel individually.

Application and Fee
The fee 11 500 Euro (VAT 0%) includes tuition (15 days of face to face sessions), materials and handouts, guidance and feedback. Lunch and refreshments during the sessions in Finland are also included. The expenses of travelling, accommodation and meals of the China module are not included in the fee. Feel free to ask for an organization-specific offer!
Applications should be received at the latest on 30 March 2012. Before acceptance we will invite you to an interview, which can be conducted by phone.
The application is binding. Please acquaint yourself with the

International Design Business Management for Professionals -koulutusohjelma on tehty muotoilun, tuotekehityksen, markkinoinnin ja viestinnän osaajille sekä liiketoiminnan kehittäjille.
Muotoilun, teknologian ja kaupallisen osaamisen yhdistävä ohjelma tarkastelee muotoilua liike-elämän ja kansainvälisyyden näkökulmasta.
Opit johtamaan monialaista yhteistyötä ja hyödyntämään optimaalisesti designin tuomat mahdollisuudet globaalissa toimintaympäristössä.
Koulutuksen keskiössä ovat kehitysprojektit, joissa ratkotaan yritystoiminnan käytännön ongelmia monialaisissa tiimeissä. Voit ehdottaa omaa organisaatiotasi ohjelman aikana tehtävän projektin kohteeksi. Projektityö tuottaa kohdeyritykselle konkreettista hyötyä ja uudenlaista strategista ajattelua.
Ohjelman sisällössä painottuu liiketoiminta Aasiassa ja yksi jakso toteutetaan Shanghaissa, Kiinassa.
Koulutus on englanninkielinen.
